About Susan
Inspiring and Delighting for Four Decades
I come from a heritage of artists: craftsman, poets, and musicians. I began working in my father's upholstery shop and sewing in a workroom with my mother when I was five years old. I have always been taught that I can create, improve, and then refine my creations.
After a childhood of hands on learning, I received formal schooling at the Salt Lake School of Interior Design. I partnered with my father to create Royal Arts Interiors in 1982.
Throughout my nearly 40 years as a designer, I've seen trends come and go. One thing that has always remained the same is my desire to help my clients curate a space that nourishes their spirit. Bringing to life a client’s unique vision outlasts any trend.
I am fulfilled by helping my clients improve their surroundings; repurposing and restyling to set the stage for a life well lived. I pride myself in improving not only aesthetics, but organization and flow.
About Sable
A Family Owned Business
I grew up around the same upholstery shop as my Mother and also learned to sew at a young age. Cleaning up staples, organizing screws, steaming fabric, going to the Parade of Homes was a normal summer for me. I have worked an array of jobs in Utah, Washington, and California. Even though some were very different than others I was mostly recognized for my organizational skills and my eye for detail. Learning from my Mother and Grandfather the importance of quality and hard work is the thing that continues to set me apart. I love creating in multiple mediums and find inspiration from spending time outdoors. I have now decided to join Susan in building a new department of Royal Arts, down inserts.
